All the dorm rooms at Berkeley start on the first floor as the ground level is the whole dorm common room with games tables etc.. Each floor has one "dorm room"- it's pretty much like a one-floor house. There are fully equipped kitchens, five bedrooms with ensuites (shower-only), a main bathroom with a large bathtub, a main room with a television and a sofa, a dining room and a small study with bean bags and low desks.

The door is marked with the Philos house symbol- a palm. Each boarder has their own key to the main dorm and a second for their own dorm room- the second key does not open any other room. Everyone must be in their own dorm rooms by 10pm and lights go out at 11. Two teachers supervise each dorm house and live on the bottom floor.
